Blackjack versus Poker: Know the Difference
Poker has been very prominent these days especially with the huge success of the World Poker Tour and the World Series Of Poker. The popularity of poker stretches far and beyond the casinos and the internet. It has fascinated players from all across the globe. Even Hollywood has a fascination on this card game.
Blackjack is also a famous card game. Casinos, whether online or live, offers great deals and variations of blackjack. There are still more players who love to play blackjack and will not trade any other game even poker.
There are many differences between these two card games. Anyone who wants to try on either of the two should know the difference in order to assess which game is best for him/her to play.
Compared to poker, blackjack is a fast paced card game. It doesn't require a long time to play and players are expected to move in a split second in order to get ahead of the game. The object is to have 2 cards that are equaled to 21 in order to beat the dealer. Who ever beats the dealer first, gets the advantage. There are also strategies involved in order to beat the dealer, but the play should be quick and swift in order to be ahead of the rest.
Poker is more focused and time-consuming. There's the element of elimination within the process. Poker needs a lot of thinking in order to beat the opponents, that's why it is not as quick to play compared to blackjack.
With blackjack, winning is faster. Hitting the 21 is equal to a win. Hitting the 21 repeatedly is also possible in one sitting, so any player who is dealt with the right set of cards can have multiple wins in one casino night. With poker, a player can win only once per session. And it definitely depends whether he's constantly getting the best hand, otherwise he's eliminated and the only best players will continue to play throughout the game until the unbeatable one prevails.
Blackjack players win because they have the best hand, so does with poker. But the difference here is that when a blackjack player loses, his only opponent is the dealer; whereas with a poker player, he loses because his opponents have better hands than him. A blackjack player isn't really beating the dealer; the cards that were dealt to him and how he played it that caused him to lose.
Which ever card game that one chooses, it is the game play that matters. Both blackjack and poker are great card games. The difference between the two is their distinctions and players who have loved these card games know the fun and challenges behind playing them. If you found your niche on either blackjack or poker, stick to it and do better in order to win. Do better in both blackjack and poker, if you do love both games, so you'll have a great time and more money on the pot.
